Where is Tesla robotaxi available now?

It depends on the city, and on whether a safety driver is still in the car. As of Oct 19, 2026, the Tesla News Wire Robotaxi Tracker lists 7 live cities: Austin, SF Bay Area, Dallas, Houston, Miami, Orlando and Tampa. SF Bay Area is the live city still marked as safety-driver service. 6 cities are listed as pending, which is not service. Tesla has not published one fleet-wide count of active robotaxis.

What Tesla has promised vs. delivered

Live cities and the mile series below are the delivered record. Pending cities are listed by the tracker and are not service. The Texas figure is an authorization total, not a count of robotaxis in service. The Q2 2026 note is quoted after the charts.

Q2 2026 FSD and Robotaxi note

Tesla's FSD business is shifting from simple adoption toward deeper usage, while robotaxi activity remains an early extension of that network rather than its main use. Active FSD subscriptions reached 1.48 million (chart 11), and daily FSD miles per subscriber rose from 10.8 miles to 22.9 miles (chart 17). Cumulative FSD miles increased from approximately 6.4 billion to approximately 12.9 billion (chart 18). By comparison, cumulative paid robotaxi miles reached 2.45 million, while cumulative unsupervised robotaxi miles reached 380,000 (chart 19). The evidence points to two linked changes: the subscriber base is getting larger and each subscriber is using FSD more, which explains the rapid expansion in total miles. Yet the much smaller robotaxi figures show that this broad owner usage has not translated into comparable autonomous commercial service. FSD is therefore functioning primarily as a widely used driver feature, with robotaxi operations still a limited layer of the business.

Current odds

These are all 3 Autonomy questions in the Prediction Room, as of Oct 21, 2026, covering FSD subscriptions, robotaxis, and Cybercab. Each card is the current brief. Full history stays with members.

Will Tesla report over 1.6 million active FSD subscriptions in Q3?

42% average chance

  • Astra 45%
  • Fable 42%
  • Grok 40%

Forecasts as of Sep 27, 2026. Closes Sep 30, 2026. Awaiting outcome

Resolution rule: YES if Tesla's first official Q3 2026 shareholder update reports active FSD subscriptions strictly greater than 1.60 million at quarter-end. Exactly 1.60 million is NO. Use Tesla's active FSD subscriptions definition in the Q2 2026 update. If the definition changes materially or the metric is omitted, leave unresolved. Do not substitute robotaxi riders or miles driven. The period is July-September 2026. If not disclosed by November 15, leave unresolved; missing disclosure is not NO. Later revisions do not change this edition's outcome.

Will Tesla have over 2,000 active robotaxis by Dec 31, 2026?

18% average chance

  • Astra 30%
  • Fable 12%
  • Grok 12%

Forecasts as of Oct 21, 2026. Closes Dec 31, 2026. Open

Resolution rule: YES if Tesla reports more than 2,000 distinct vehicles active in its worldwide paid driverless Robotaxi service as of December 31, 2026 (Pacific Time). Active means available for public paid rides without an onboard human driver or safety monitor. Count all Tesla models once; exclude supervised ride-hailing, test-only vehicles, planned fleets and cumulative retired vehicles. NO if a comparable disclosed year-end count is 2,000 or fewer. Use the first qualifying Tesla disclosure published on https://ir.tesla.com by May 15, 2027; later revisions do not change this edition. If disclosure is missing, ambiguous, or uses an incompatible definition, leave unresolved; absence of disclosure is not NO.

Will Tesla have produced over 5,000 Cybercabs by the end of Q1 2027?

44% average chance

  • Astra 58%
  • Fable 35%
  • Grok 40%

Forecasts as of Oct 21, 2026. Closes Mar 31, 2027. Open

Resolution rule: YES if Tesla reports cumulative worldwide production of more than 5,000 completed production-specification Cybercab vehicles through March 31, 2027 (Pacific Time), including earlier quarters. NO if the comparable cumulative count is 5,000 or fewer. Exclude prototypes, unfinished vehicles, installed capacity, production-rate targets and other Tesla models. Deliveries are not a substitute for production. Use the first qualifying Tesla disclosure published on https://ir.tesla.com by May 15, 2027; later revisions do not change this edition. If disclosure is missing, ambiguous, or uses an incompatible definition, leave unresolved; absence of disclosure is not NO.

The live and pending cities, the tracker timeline, the Texas authorization, and the Prediction Room odds are the sections above. An authorization is not a vehicle in service, and a pending city is not a live city.

What is still missing from this page?

These items are marked TODO because the source files do not include them. Nothing here is filled with an estimate. TODO: add robotaxi rows to business line milestones. The timeline on this page is the service-city tracker because that file has no robotaxi key. TODO: add a Tesla-reported count of active robotaxis. The Texas DMV figure on this page is an authorization total, not active service. TODO: publish the FSD and Robotaxi deck chart images. Those images are served only to members, so this page draws the public series it has.
